Corporate

The Sewing Shed offers a range of services for businesses. This might involve:

Team-building days – Businesses are always looking for new ways to engage with their staff, and often the last thing they want is something which feels ‘corporate’. So we’ll design a bespoke sewing experience for your team. How about everyone makes a Christmas gift, or a giant appliqué scene to put up at work, or their own choice of project – such as cushions, bags or bunting? Usually we’d be looking at a sewing class or workshop of around 12 students, but if you have more staff then we could run several. Please contact us to ask about possibilities, numbers, costs and dates.

In-store teaching – Interest in sewing is growing all the time (thanks in part to the BBC2 reality show The Great British Sewing Bee). We’ve been contacted by leading high-street stores to do live demonstrations to promote the sale of fabrics, sewing machines and books. If this is right up your high street, please contact us.

Stitching exhibitions – Leonie has taught sewing at The Knit & Stitch Show. She led creative workshops on on-trend subjects, which ensured that her workshops were fully booked! If you’d like to book Leonie to inspire your exhibition attendees or conference delegates, please contact us.

Speaking opportunities – Leonie is an excellent public speaker who knows how to bring her subject alive. Whether leading a break-out session at a conference or exhibition, or addressing the Women’s Institute, she will always enthuse and motivate her audience on any subject. A favourite subject is how to set up and run a small sewing or dressmaking business.
