Tuesday sewing workshops

Our one-off Tuesday Workshops are a chance to learn to sew whatever you want. They take place in the tranquility of our studio, offering a great opportunity for ‘me’ time (so why not come with a friend?)

  • Learn top tips on achieving a professional finish!
  • A maximum of 6 students per sewing class means you’ll get lots of personal attention.
  • A one-off sewing class means you don’t need to commit to a series of classes.
  • There’s a brand-new, fully computerised Janome sewing machine for every student, plus use of an interlocker.
  • Refreshments and a yummy homemade lunch are included.
  • There are handouts and/or patterns to take home with you, where applicable.

When & how much?

Tuesday Workshops run from 9.45am until 2.45pm, and include lunch. Do arrive at 9.30am for a welcome drink and a chat before we get started!

The cost is £60 per student.

There are good reasons for choosing a day of sewing, rather than a two hour class. Attending a whole day workshop gives you chance to learn more as you are in the swing of it, you won’t have to break off at an opportune moment. We also find that for students who live farther a field, it’s a good excuse to come and experience The Sewing Shed as it makes their trip really worthwhile. Go on, book yourself some me time!

What do you need to bring?

Materials aren’t included because personal taste varies. So please bring what you’ll need with you – although we do keep haberdashery stock to purchase if you get caught short. If in doubt, please ask!

Course dates

Our workshops are every third Tuesday in the month, give or take the odd cheeky holiday!

  • Tuesday 24th April 2018
  • Tuesday 22nd May 2018
  • Tuesday 19th June 2018

“I love your lending library, so people can borrow books or patterns. The fact you also sell the basics, and more beside is sooooo helpful, as we don't always have the chance to buy things before class!"
