Paper Crafts for Beginners

We believe that everyone has a creative side. Our aim is to provide all our students, from complete beginner to craft addict, with a relaxing couple of hours away from the stresses and strains of daily life, to focus on doing something fun and creative. You’ll always leave with something fabulous you’ve made yourself along with the skills and inspiration to keep creating! Suitable for complete beginners to the home taught paper crafter that would like inspiration and professional tuition.

what to expect- 6 week course?

Each week you will be guided by Kylie in different aspects and techniques of papercraft, ensuring you take home a different paper crafted item each week. The course fee includes all materials. For our first course Kylie has detailed the variety of the techniques that will be explored.

Week One: will be learning simple stamping techniques and we’ll make a couple of cards and a pop up calendar.

Week Two: we will be doing some fun modern watercolouring to create abstract designs that can be used on card fronts or a framed picture and we’ll also use the watercoloured paper to punch shapes to create a spring wreath.

Week Three: is going to be all about heat embossing (everybody loves this technique!) and make a personalised sign/plaque.

Week Four: Different ways to make pretty paper flowers to decorate a picture frame.

Week Five: Gift boxes and bags! Three different beautiful gift packaging examples.

Week 6 – students choice!

To launch the new course we are offering attendees of the January course a free paper crafting goody-bay with a retail value of £50!

about kylie

Kylie has been teaching card making and paper crafts for nearly a decade, giving up her desk job five years ago to turn her passion for sharing hand-made crafts with others into a business – Hello Crafter. Based in West Yorkshire Kylie has a loyal following of crafters and has taught across the region and regularly demonstrates her paper crafting techniques to WI groups and at national shows. We are delighted that she is bringing her talents to The Sewing Shed in this new weekly class which we are sure will be very popular.
